What is SOS Plan de garantie résidentielle?
The Official Support Service (in French, Service officiel de soutien, SOS) Plan de garantie résidentielle is a non-profit organization entirely dedicated to buyers-beneficiaries of new homes. Its mission is to protect the interests of buyers-beneficiaries of the Guarantee Plan for New Residential Buildings. Its objectives are to inform buyers-beneficiaries about the Guarantee Plan and to support them throughout their different actions.

2019
Régie du bâtiment du Québec undertakes to financially support the start-up and operation of SOS Plan de garantie résidentielle.
2015
Entry into force of the new Regulation respecting the guarantee plan for new residential buildings, under which all buyers of new housing contribute to the financing fund of the assistance program.
2014
Régie du bâtiment du Québec authorizes Garantie de construction résidentielle (GCR) to administer the Guarantee Plan, a mandatory public plan. Through its mission, GCR protects buyers-beneficiaries by promoting best practices with contractors for improving the quality of construction.
