Accredited contractor / RBQ license holder

Each contractor who builds a new residential building is legally obliged to hold (i) a general contractor's license granted by the Régie du bâtiment du Québec, and (ii) a certificate of accreditation from GCR.

Before doing business with a contractor, we recommend that you consult the register of accredited contractors to ensure that your home will be built by a contractor in good standing.

You are in the process of buying a house? Your contractor must hold a license in the subcategory “1.1.1 Contractor for new residential buildings covered by a guarantee plan, class I”.

You are buying a condo? Your contractor must hold a license in the subcategory “1.1.2 Contractor for new residential buildings covered by a guarantee plan, class II”.
