Mandatory guarantee plan and private guarantee plans

Introduction

In general, the vast majority of new residential buildings are covered by the mandatory guarantee plan, yet for buildings that are not, there are private guarantee plans.

The mandatory guarantee plan is provided for in the Regulation respecting the guarantee plan, but it applies only to certain types of buildings. For all other new buildings, you may be protected by private guarantee plans.
